1 ratingsKristala is a soulslike where you play as a cat person, to keep it simple. But it utilizes stealth and platforming much more than any I've seen. It's not the most insane mechanic but it does add a good amount of uniqueness and self expression when it comes to how you approach each encounter. The combat is very similar to Lies of P in how much learning parrying will benefit you in the long run. The boss encounters all feel unique from one another, save for 2 of them, and they were all enjoyable to fight! There is one boss that seems absurdly hard for how early in the game it is but otherwise I enjoyed them all! I loved how much the areas connected back into one another. The third areas each individual structures are all fun and some of my favorite, but the trek to them can be quite disorienting as many outdoor areas look similar there. There is also one structure that is currently bugged but am hoping the devs will have it fixed soon enough as they put a lot of love into this game and seem very dedicated to it. The quests, while interesting enough, were mostly just fetch quests, and other than I believe two characters, all the npcs with quests are one and done. The story is not anything crazy at first but still good, but it gets more interesting and darker as you progress further into and out of the first area. My personal favorite part of the game were the spells, mainly because there isn't much weapon variety. You get claws, a sword and shield, or a greatsword, which are all fun on their own but not too deep. However there are 3 different spell trees you can choose from with varying effects and they were really fun to mess around with, although maybe a bit overpowered at times. Overall, a great game with a lot of charm. If you love weapon parry combat and spell casting, as well as some light platforming, I believe you will thoroughly enjoy this game.
