technically i dont have repentance plus but lowkey who cares. its hard to capture this game in a review that isnt a full thesis, purely because of how huge and incredible it is (i recommend Foekoe's video or any other video essay if you do want a thesis). Isaac is such a genre-defining masterpiece and really set the bar high for all other rogue-likes (or lites, but no one cares) that followed. each and every run feels either horrifically unfair or like you're truly winning, and thats the real charm, because getting absurd item combinations feels that much more rewarding after getting steamrolled 100 times. every character is unique and fun in their own right: even isaac, the most basic of characters, feels enjoyable because the game is just good and it knows it. there is near infinite replay value, which is furthered by the incredible modding scene. genuinely so good, even if its pure ragebait 80% of the time. the story is also incredibly told and feels so honest. it can be confusing due to the non-linear nature, but thats definitely intentional and the story isnt and shouldnt be the main focus. i love this game. my big dream is to get infinity percent (or just get a pc for mods im so desperate).
