Pretty good game, but the voice acting is pretty shit tbh. Suddenly spiked in brutality. The cutscenes are great. The automated eye blinking is so funny. Having to play through the game thrice is shit (repeating levels). Mr scratch is a good villain. Ende war lustig. Definitely better than the first game Alan Wake’s American Nightmare is a pretty good game, and definitely better than the first one and a little better than the first game's DLC's. It feels more enjoyable overall, even though it still has some issues. One of the strongest parts of the game is its presentation. The cutscenes are great, and Mr. Scratch works well as a villain. He gives the game a stronger sense of personality and makes the story more entertaining. The ending was a little much, but not bad. At the same time, the voice acting is honestly pretty bad at times. It often takes away from scenes that could have worked better otherwise. The eye blinking is also unintentionally funny and makes some moments look awkward. What I'm indifferent about, but should be noted is, that the game also suddenly spikes in brutality, which stands out quite a lot and gives the game a different feeling compared to the first one. The biggest issue this game has, is the structure. Having to play through the game three times is annoying, especially because it means repeating levels. This makes the game feel more dragged out than it needs to be, even if the core experience is still enjoyable. Overall, Alan Wake’s American Nightmare is a good game. 7 - 7.5/10
