TL;DR: the game is 7h long and very impressive for its time, if you want to play it I'd advise you to do so without reading any spoilers including this review because it'll ruin the game (it's a casual linear story game sooo...) still very fun despite the its age Prey 2006 is an excellent linear story based game despite its redundant generic story telling of a chosen one beating ancients to protect the earth, and its flat characters and writing it still won me over as one of the best games I've played this year. The focus here is not only on the gameplay but also the level design and game mechanics with moving portals, gravity manipulation, spirit control and much more, it really is an imaginative game that won't seize to surprise you with every and each level, even the guns' designs are creative and despite the non-challenging nature of the game you can still have one hell of a time experiencing what the different guns have in stock. The only thing I regret is the very forgiving nature of the game with what is basically the ability to have infinite revives and heals/ammo everywhere. And it suffers from it alot as it really lacks any form of challenge or deep intresting gameplay mechanics or ennemies of any sorts, so each fight scene becomes just a mindless aim->shoot->revive cycle Nevertheless the puzzles are amazing even compared to masterclasses in the genre like portal 2, the scenery is beautiful and charming with a Christopher Nolan kind of super-realism, it's basically a cool alien blockbuster played through a controller. Really recommend it as it's a very charming 7h experience that didn't age one bit when it comes to its "wow" effect (though don't expect deep gunplay and hard-core mechanics because you won't find them)
