first of all, the base game the gameplay is fairly basic: find fish, time inputs, sell fish. its a good kind of simple though - never gets boring. the quests also make the game much more interesting and the story, while pretty simple, was really cool and interesting. that being said, this definitely isnt a story focused game. not a bad thing. the fish designs are awesome. theres three headed fish, lumpy fish, void fish and even a hollow knight reference (neat). catching every abberation (while not necessary) would have made this gane a slog, but the addition of the atrophy ability made it infinitely easier. theres also dlc. the blackstone key feels stupid. its literally two mid items and thats it, but i think its free with the mobile version which is cool. as for other versions, its way overpriced for what took about 2 seconds. the pale reach was very cool. the quests were super basic in story but still fun, and the fish were really cool. i like how they named the common ice fish icefish. iron rig was peak. all the fish were, as per, super cool; the progression felt very natural, maybe even better than the base game; the story was interesting and, while more prevelant, still unobtrusive. my only nitpicks were that the crates were a little annoying to gather and the final fish was stupid to catch: i was dropping bait randomly for half an hour before realising it was guaranteed under the rig. minor nitpicks though. overall fun to 100% but kind of brainless. i recommend a YouTube video in the background.
