Persona 5 Royal

a simple review cannot do justice to the excitement so frequently present within a first playthrough. the story is interesting, fun and very well told through each character met across the in game year (and i figured out the twist myself ill have tou know). these characters are all interesting too, with each social link very well conveying theyre traumas and furthering development even outside of the main story. my favourite was for sure yusuke (my sweet prince), but akechi probably would have won out if he was more prevalent. the combat is incredible, both in gameplay and visuals. every all out finisher animation is so impressive and befitting of the respective party member. the palaces are all well designed and offer insight into each villain, and the shadow designs are always incredibly cool. i only have a few very minor nitpicks. first, okumuras boss fight is very weak gameplay wise - not very exciting. second, romancing confidants doesnt affect any scenes in the main story, which is dissappointing because it can and has been done well in other games before. third, dating adults. its a little weird. overall, Persona 5 Royal is one of my favourite games i have had the pleasure of experiencing, and i am excited to play through future entries into the series. and its very red.
