Assassin's Creed II

The first thing you'll notice about this game is, that everything has improved from the first part. The game is fun and offers a ton of new options for movement, combat, and assassination. However, it gets really repetitive due to its size, and the game feels stretched, mainly due to some stupid, pointless missions like the 9 lieutenants or the whole bs in Forli. Many missions just feel like going to point A, doing something, and returning to the start. Parkour over water is still incredibly frustrating, and the parkour in general is janky af sometimes, as you randomly jump off corners quite often, because the dumbass thinks you want to jump into the water. The collectibles are tedious as well, but the glyphs are really cool and feel like a mystery that builds up increasingly. Because I actually went for the platinum trophy here, I completed all the trophies as well and found some of them to be a little annoying, but overall very easy to 100%. Besides that, the story is really good and finishes on a nice note while leaving room for the next game (which I will play after). Overall, this is my favourite Assassin's Creed game so far. Considering I've played four of the games at this point (including two fairly recent ones, AC Origins and Odyssey), it’s sad to see that this franchise evolved in a completely wrong direction. 7 - 7.5/10

You can certainly see the Ubislop formula starting here, but it's not remotely as annoying because of the smaller scale. The gameplay is fun, and the detail is pretty good for its age, not meaning the graphics, but the interactive elements, attention to detail, parkour options and general combat. The story overall is surprisingly good and actually engaging (in contrast to other Assassin's Creed titles), even if the plot twist was really predictable. However, the dialogue is ass. Additionally, the game feels a little soulless in general due to insanely often repeated dialogue and limited executions. Worst of all, parkour over water is egregious. Not being able to swim is one thing, but sometimes your character jumps into the water for no reason when you just want to turn into a minimal corner, even when adjusting your thumbstick to match the angle. As if this wasn't enough, corners (especially ones on ships) have a good chance of glitching and making you fall right through. I'm writing this while enraged about this bs because when you're trying to run, about 50% of the time the game makes you jump into nothingness, which caused me to hate the Sibrand mission. All in all, it's pretty decent, but sadly it shows the first signs of the infinite repetition that lies ahead for the series while dragging along some annoying bugs. 6 - 6.5/10

This "game" offers literally nothing, you just run around a small building with a flashlight and refill some camera's batteries. 2/10

Played this because some people said it's underrated, i can't really agree. First of all, it has extremely corny dialogue. If old God of War and Uncharted were both bad and then mixed together, this would've been the result. In addition to the dialogue, the story is also painfully cheesy, with a very B movie feel. The characters have almost no personality beyond their basic archetypes: the cool, strong dude with a motorcycle and the overly sexualised, lovey dovey woman with tech abilities. Andy Serkis voicing Monkey doesn't make it any better either, as his performance often sounds unintentionally unserious. The story also moves way too fast for the characters to become as intimate as they are, and it suddenly turning into a revenge story is pretty ridiculous. Then, comes the ending, which was really mediocre and felt like a Matrix ripoff. There are some things I liked, though. The cloud sections are nice, and I enjoyed how Trip interacts with certain parts of the environment. Combat is actually fun as well, although the fights get very repetitive. 5/10 DLC The DLC is decent, though, and honestly better than the main game in some ways. It has better animations, gunplay, gadgets, music, and a more polished overall look. I also liked the cutscenes much more. Some sequences are annoying, however, and the vaulting is absolutely awful. You'll often roll several times before actually vaulting, which is especially frustrating when you need to move quickly. About 25% of the time, the gadgets simply don't work either. Still, I enjoyed the DLC more than the main game. 6/10
